Fibrophos, P-Grow and UpKeep
We are pleased to announce that we have a new Bredal spreader with GPS variable rate application in the Mid Sussex Area. We have also gained a new contractor spreader in East Sussex & so this will help the spreading of Fibrophos so much more efficient & reliable.
Also, as well as the traditional Fibrophos, we have P-Grow and UpKeep phosphate and potash fertilisers. They are all sustainable products which are not easily leached & can be applied at any time of the year. They provide essential nutrients in an available form as the crop needs it and 40% Calcium CaO helps towards a liming effect. They are very price competitive against bagged PK fertilisers so please ask for a quote.
Grass Seeds
Matrix Enhanced Ryegrass (Hybrid of diploid pasture perennial ryegrass x meadow fescue) has now consistently proven to give an extra 3 weeks earlier grazing in the spring and an extra 3 weeks later grazing in the autumn over conventional ryegrasses. This year we have included it into our Sinclair McGill, medium term grazing mixture ‘Turbo’ to give a real boost. It has a dense fine leaved sward to resist poaching & treading as well as the extended grazing.
Many grass varieties are still in short supply, as traditional seed growers have switched to more profitable wheat production, which is making many mixtures a bit more money than last year. We strongly recommend that you don’t leave your ordering to the last minute.
Maize Seed
We always favour high yielding varieties as tons in the clamp are money to you!
Starch percentages are more to do with maturity at harvest and vary little between varieties. The bigger energy source which breeders are striving towards is the Cell Wall Digestibility and is this that LG varieties also tend to score highly on.
Aurelia has proved itself over several years in having consistently massive yields with high cell wall digestibility. The big one for the South East.
Activate is an extremely early variety (MC12) with superb ME content and Starch yield.
Ambition is set to become the market leader when added to the NIAB 2013 list. Chart topping dry
matter and starch yield coupled with an early harvest.

Granulated Lime
Soil pH imbalance is often the biggest factor in lack of nutrient uptake & stunted plant growth. Spreading granulated lime is the most reactive & cost effective way of correcting acidic soils.
